It is an honor to have served the regional Springfield community for the last 20 years. Over the last 4 years we have come a long way, out of a recession, and we are on track for even better things. Lane County is an incredible place to live. We have great opportunities ahead to continue enhancing economic development, public safety, and the overall livability of our great region.

I am running for reelection so I can help lead Lane County in these efforts.

In just the last year Lane County has passed a jail levy renewal with a 72% approval rate, continuing the expanded jail capacity and critical youth services. We've restructured the county budget to save $5.6 million and eliminated the structural deficit without dipping into reserves AND cut property taxes. We adopted a community health plan focused on economic development, housing, and rural health care. For 2017 Lane County employment also hit an all-time high!

I am proud of my efforts to raise the visibility of Lane County through my work with Oregon21, the advisory committee bringing the international 2021 World Track and Field Games to Lane County. I am also honored to sit on the board of RAIN, our regional business start-up accelerator, providing capital to early-stage business, allowing them to scale up and encouraging them to stay in this region.

I understand the importance of working with a bi-partisan team of elected leaders, locally and statewide, to continue pushing for adequate funding of our regional transportation systems, economic development opportunities, and the availability of workforce housing. We will grow opportunities stretching into the 2020's.

Please vote for me before May 15th to help continue to move Lane County and Springfield in the right direction.
